Once upon a time, the word “success” automatically brought thoughts of money and power. Nothing wrong with either of those, but somewhere along the way people began to notice that money and power alone felt empty. There had to be something more to it.

The richness of life is only partially related to the richness of your wallet. Good relationships, a sense of giving, meaningful work, physical and emotional health all play a huge role in creating the inner sense of success that is ultimately fulfilling.

Protogenia’s Diary came about while searching for way to celebrate the lives of the wonderful women I have been privileged to meet through founding and growing Chicks with Checks. About that same time, Kathleen Gage of Street Smarts Marketing decided to put together a brand new and incredibly innovative type of joint venture campaign designed to introduce the talents, products, and services of a whole new group of experts. What a perfect opportunity to gather these powerful stories into one eBook and share them with thousands.

Each of these women is doing something powerful and meaningful. Whether it’s the young single mom with a huge dream, the African American woman blazing trails in the workplace, or the woman who saw the chance to combine two hot trends, chocolate and experience stores, into one really cool business. All of the stories are amazing and inspiring. I hope this is just the first of a series of Protogenia collections.
